For a while now, a black-and-gold Beer, Bacon & Liberty – Seal of Approval sticker has been showing up on the doors and fridges of selected venues in Poland. You cannot buy it, talk your way into it, or earn it with an invitation to a tasting. I award it personally, to places where I ate well, drank well, and keep coming back to without needing an occasion.
Treat this list as a recommendation from a mate who has driven across half of Europe looking for good beer and good food: if you see the seal on a door, a bar or a fridge, order a beer and something to eat without hesitating.
The idea was born at the Warsaw Beer Festival, where the badges went to the beers I recommended, and I later extended it to venues.
